PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
This position is responsible for all aspects of health and safety compliance for the assigned assets. This position will be responsible for implementing and managing the safety program and conducting safety training, inspections and audits in order to facilitate and promote employee safety while maintaining compliance with applicable Health and Safety standards.
SCOPE AND MAGNITUDE:
This position will directly support assets in assigned areas for all activities related to health and safety compliance.
POSITION FUNCTIONS:
Perform duties necessary to ensure health and safety compliance, including but not limited to: conducting safety training, administering the company’s safety programs, conducting field and contractor safety reviews, conducting facilities audits, site hazard assessments, participation in public awareness meetings and leading compliance efforts.
This position will also assist in any other program or need in the implementation of EH&S programs or initiatives as dictated by the company.
This position will require travel throughout the asset area. Overnight travel will be necessary but typically is limited to less than 2-4 days per month.
Provide assistance with PSM/ OSHA /DOT regulatory compliance as necessary with assigned areas of operation.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical safety and/or industry experience required
Minimum 2 years of experience in the implementation, administration and evaluation of health and safety programs, with hands-on experience in providing health and safety training.
In addition, minimum two years of experience working in oil and gas industry
Previous working knowledge of OSHA regulations and OSHA training is required for this position
Must have excellent written and oral communications skills, organizational and planning skills, facilitation skills and computer skills
Must have the ability to achieve results through influencing others and be flexible, analytical and detailed-oriented
Clean driving record
